How our pricing works
At PS English, you pay for experienced native British teachers, personal support and carefully planned one-to-one lessons.
Your price depends on three choices:

Your plan: Flexi Essential or Flexi Premium.

Your standard lesson length: 60 minutes and 90 minutes are the most popular.

How much lesson credit you buy: the more hours you prepay, the bigger the discount. Our most popular packages contain 15 or 30 hours of lesson credit.
Our standard 60-minute lesson costs £40 on Flexi Essential and £50 on Flexi Premium, before package discounts.
Longer lessons offer better value per minute, while larger prepaid packages receive discounts of up to 20 per cent.
Lesson length sets the base price. The amount of lesson credit you buy sets the discount.

Choose your standard lesson length
Choose the lesson length you expect to use most often. Each length has its own base price.

These are the prices before your lesson credit discount. The longer the lesson, the lower the price per minute.
Shorter lessons for busy people
If 60 minutes is ultimately too long, you can opt for shorter lessons than an hour.

Shorter lessons cost more per minute, but give you greater flexibility. You can always extend a lesson when you have more time and simply use the additional minutes from your lesson credit.
Shorter lessons are available online only. Face-to-face lessons in London start at 60 minutes.
Choose how much lesson credit to buy
Lessons are purchased as prepaid lesson credit. The more hours of credit you buy, the larger the discount applied to your lesson price.

Your lesson credit is paid for upfront in a single payment. There are no monthly direct debits or rolling subscriptions.

Pricing FAQs
How do I pay for my lessons?
Packages are paid upfront, in a single payment, by bank transfer, debit or credit card. We do not run monthly direct debits or rolling subscriptions. You buy a block of lesson hours in advance and use them when it suits you. Invoices are sent before payment and a receipt is issued once payment is confirmed.
Are lessons refundable?
Used credit cannot be refunded. We offer a 75 per cent refund on any unused credit that is still within its expiry date, on written request. The full detail is set out in our Terms and Conditions.
What is your cancellation policy?
Lessons can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice at no charge. A lesson cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice is normally charged in full, because the time has been blocked out for you. Flexi Premium includes one free late cancellation per month, which is there for the unavoidable last-minute clashes that life occasionally produces.
Can I change the length of an individual lesson?
Yes. Your lesson credit is based on your standard lesson length, the one you chose when you bought your package, but you can vary it from lesson to lesson. If your standard lesson length is 60 minutes, you can occasionally have a 90-minute lesson. We simply deduct 90 minutes from your remaining lesson credit. You can also occasionally have a shorter lesson. An occasional short lesson is not charged at your standard length: we deduct only the minutes you booked. If shorter lessons become a regular pattern, we will raise it with you, and we reserve the judgement on how they are deducted from then on.
Do my prepaid hours expire?
On Flexi Premium, your hours never expire. On Flexi Essential, we work out a fair deadline based on your own schedule and then add a 50 per cent time buffer to cover holidays, sickness or busy weeks at work. If you buy 4 hours and plan one 60-minute lesson a week, those lessons would normally take 4 weeks, so we give you 6. Start a block on 1 July and your hours stay valid until 5 August. Almost all of our students use their hours well within this window. If you know your schedule is completely unpredictable, Premium gives you total peace of mind.
Can I switch between online and face-to-face lessons?
Yes. Many of our London-based students mix the two. If you move a single lesson to in-person at short notice, a supplementary fee applies for that lesson. If you would like a regular mix of online and face-to-face, email us and we will set your package up properly. Your teacher and your lesson plan stay the same across both formats.
What is included in the free consultation?
A 20-minute conversation in which we confirm your goals, any preferences you have for lesson content, and a time for lessons that works for you. It gives us enough information to match you with the teacher we believe suits your needs best. It is free, with no commitment to book lessons.
